Aging is a natural process that cannot be stopped, but the way and manner in which we age can be controlled by each individual and the lifestyle they live. Healthy aging is very advantageous and would make aging more stress and disease-free.

Below are some steps to help you grow old in a healthy way:

Stay active

Maintain or start an active, healthy lifestyle. Make physical movement a part of your everyday life. Regular exercises which include: walking, stretching, gardening, taking the stairs can be done. Rest and sleep

The body must rest to rejuvenate. Developing a schedule or bedtime routine to regularly get 7-9 hours of sleep per day is critical to growing old in a successful and healthy way.

Practice prevention

Ensure the house is a safe environment free of tripping hazards to avoid falls which are detrimental to healthy aging. Growing old is something no one can avoid or run from. Embrace the process of aging and see it as natural. Embrace a positive mindset towards it and focus on what you can do instead of any limitation you may have.
